SNIST believes that ,Strong Academics, Industry relevant training, Emerging technology knowledge through R&D and Professional mindset with human approach are the essential attributes that determine the success of technical education. SNIST Research efforts are towards productive collaboration with leading Research Institutes, both nationally and globally, to invent and provide solutions to Technological and societal problems .A separate Department is established for Research and consultancy in the Institute with full time  Director  and Dean .

The institute has 8 UG and PG programs with dedicated faculty and students, involved extensively in research activities. SNIST is recognized by DSIR, Govt. of India as Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) – 2009 to till date.

The website provides a detailed overview of the Research activities undertaken and contributions made by faculty in each department. Faculty members with Ph.D and Pursuing Ph.D are required to conduct  Academic research as an integral part of their responsibility  to generate and  assimilate new knowledge which gets imbibed in their teaching and students projects .  Many faculty  members are  recognized guides by JNTU for guiding Ph.D . Sponsored Research and Industrial consultancy are the two important modes through which faculty  are supporting their research  and contributing to the need of the industry and Society.

SNIST management is highly cooperative in supporting and promoting in-house  Academic Research activities  . The institute provides funding for establishing and  augmenting the state-of-the-art Infrastructure and Labs. . At SNIST, the faculty members  are encouraged to publish their research work  in reputed and  referredjournals and present in International and national  conferences by  reimbursing  registration  fees, after review by  Institute  Research  committee. Faculty  pursuingPh.Ds are sanctioned  special leaves to accelerate the research and further motivated by offering fees reimbursement as per the  guidelines set by the research panel. Faculty  and students are encouraged to file  patents if the proposed idea has commercial viability. SNIST management also works with reputed industries to forge alliance to offer consultancy and  advance training programs in the emerging fields which necessitate  the faculty  to take up Advance Research problems.

Number of Grants in Aid projects are sanctioned by DRDO, DST, UGC, DBT etc. Many projects are successfully completed and  many are ongoing.


Dr. A. Subhananda Rao

Director, Advancement and Research & Consultancy

Born in 1950, Dr. A. Subhananda Rao, is a gold medallist during graduation (Mech.Engineering) from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He continued his academicexcellence during his M.E (Aeronautics) from prestigious IISc, Bangolare, by receiving “Roll ofHonour”. He completed his doctorate from Osmania University, Hyderabad on topic entitled“Fracture Behaviour of Solid Propellant Rocket Motor Grains”. He has over 86 technical publicaions to his credit in various journals and seminar/conference proceedings. He has participated and chaired sessions in national and international seminars. He joined DRDO after his post graduation. He served DRDO in various capacities,as director propulsion in DRDL and ASL, Hyderabad; ,Director High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Pune; Director,Armament Research and Development Laboratory, Pune; Director Gasturbine Research Establishment ,Bangalore ;Distinguished Scientist and Chief controller R&D (Aeronautics ). Presently he is in Srinidhi Institute of science and Technology as Director, Advancement and Research.



Dr. Ameet Chavan

Ameet Chavan received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from Pune University, India in 1998. He received Master of Science degree (VLSI-ECE) from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 2003 and Ph.D. (ULP-ECE) 2010 from UTEP. While completing his studies Dr. Chavan worked as faculty for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UTEP. He has worked as a research engineer at Intel Corporation Inc. Hillsboro, OR, USA, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Inc. Austin, TX, USA, Echostar Technologies Ltd., Denver, CO, USA and Ethicon Endo, Cincinnati, OH, USA.

Dr. Chavan has a total 15 years of combined experience in industry, academia teaching and research. Dr. Chavan has worked on a four chip design research projects that were sponsored by the DARPA, SPAWAR and ASICs lab USA. The chips were fabricated at  MIT Lincoln Labs (150nm), MOSIS (180nm) and TSMC (250nm). The Radiation Hardness of the MITLL chip was tested for heavy-ion at TAMU Cyclotron facility. Dr. Chavan has presented and published his research at various international conference meetings of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a NASA Symposium on VLSI Design. To further support his research, Dr. Chavan has recieved research awards from NASA, DARPA, SPAWAR and The University of Texas at El Paso Graduate School. Additionally, he was awarded Texas Instruments Foundation Scholarship, a Texas Public Education Scholarship, and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Distributed Computing Laboratory Scholarship. Dr. Chavan worked as a post doctoral faculty researcher at the ASICs research lab UTEP. He has taught Digital System Design, Microprocessors based System Design, Intro to Embedded System Design, STLD, Computer Organization courses at the ECE department, UTEP. Currently, Dr. Chavan is working as Dean (R&D) and Professor (ECE) at the  Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Hyderabad India.

Research Areas – Ultra Low Power Digital System Design, Embedded Systems, IoT, Reconfigurable Computing, and Radiation Hardened System Design.


Dr. T.V. Rajini Kanth 

Dean (R&D) , Professor (CSE)

Dr. T. V. Rajini Kanth has obtained his Ph.D. degree in C.S.E. branch from Osmania university, Hyderabad in July, 2008 and M. Tech.(C.S.E.) degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad in January, 2001. His specialization area in research is “Spatial Data mining”. He obtained his PGDCS degree from HCU, Hyderabad in 1996. He received his M. Sc. (Applied mathematics) degree in the year 1989 from S.V. University, Tirupati as University Ranker. He is currently working as professor in CSE, and also Dean R&D at SNIST, Hyderabad. He got best teacher award and Best researcher award at SNIST. His total teaching experience is 24 years. His writings have appeared in numerous Professional conferences and Journals (International journals-55, national Journals-3, International conferences- 28, national conferences-3, Total =89. His papers got many citations. Academic Society for computer systems and Information Technologies certified that his Paper titled “Design and Analysis of Novel Similarity Measure for Clustering and Classification of High Dimensional Text Documents” has been rewarded with the CRYSTAL CUBE PRIZE for best paper award of International Conference on Computer Systems and Technologies - CompSysTech’14, from Permissions@acm.org. CompSysTech'14, June27-28 2014, Ruse, Bulgaria. He has Produced 9 Ph.D. Research Scholars (2- JNTUH, 5-ANU, 2-JNTUA). He has received seminar grants from AICTE and DST organizations. Reviewer for many International Conferences like ICACM-2011, ICACM-2013, ICRSKT, ITQM, ICCCT etc., He has also received UGC Project Grant as a Principle Investigator and AICTE project grant as Co-Principle Investigator. He is a Review Committee Member Editorial Board member for 18 International Journals namely IJAEGT, IJAC, JDECS, IJEAT, IJAENT, etc., His current research area interests include Image processing, Data Warehousing & Mining, Spatial data mining, web mining, Text mining and Robotic area etc. Presently guiding research students in the research areas like Spatial data mining, Web mining, image Processing and Text mining. He has conducted two International conferences namely ICACM-11, and ICACM-13 as a Convener and also acted as session chair for many conferences like ICACT-08, ICACM-11, and ICACM-13 organized by GRIET, ICRSKT-2014, 66th CSI International Conference-2014 – Organized by JNTUH, ICCCT-2014 in association with IEEE – organized by Osmania University, 2nd World Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology (WCSET 2013) organized by GITAM, Hyderabad. He was convener for Pragnya-08, a national level technical fest.  He also acted as a Nodal Officer for academics, TEQIP. Apart from that many National level ROBO workshops were conducted namely RoboTrix, eTrix, iTrix, LogiTrix, VisionTrix and Haptic Robotic arm in association with IIT Bombay and Technophilia etc. He guided around 60 projects at B.Tech. and M.Tech. level and also developed some of them as products like Emolument management system, Mobile based automation and gamming projects, Web crawlers project, Office automation projects, Vision based Robo projects and Stegonography projects, etc., His Robo projects were displayed at 2nd Annual IT summit held at HICC, Hyderabad and was appreciated by Hon. IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah. He is presently guiding (supervisor & co-supervisor level) many Ph.D. scholars at various universities namely JNTUH, JNTUK, JNTUA and ANU. He was called for around 60 AICTE sponsored TEQIP workshops as resource person in the areas like Image processing, Big Data Analytics using R, Digital India etc. A guest Lecture was given on Image processing Applications using Morphological Operations at MSCME in 2015. ESCI has invited him to give guest lectures on Digital India at Andhra University, Big Data Analytics for Banking, Insurance and Financial Sectors at C R Rao AIMSCS, HCU Hyderabad campus, etc. He has Life Membership in ISTE & CSI apart from a membership in IEEE.

Paper entitled, “Image Information Retrieval based on Edge Responses, Shape and Texture Features using Data mining Techniques” was published in GJCST Volume 16 and Issue 3 in 2016. The Dr Corina Sas, Chief Editor of Global Journal of Computer Science And Technology, USA has recommended Dr T V Rajini Kanth name as one of their honorable authors to London Journals Press ( https://journalspress.com ) which is an internationally acclaimed publishing organization and an accreditation authority for research standards on behalf of Open Association of Research, Society. This paper has been downloaded about 4896 times, and the Editor would like to send me regards for that. He will be directly invited as a Franklin Member of London Journals Press. Additionally, his publication fee was discounted with Global Journals and will be same with LJP as he will be a part of Franklin Member Council.
